Whisper Series from Southwest Windpower

The new Whisper 100, 200 and 500 series from Southwest Windpower have been updated with new features and an impressive five-year warranty. Featuring injection molded blades, the Whisper 100 and Whisper 200 have balanced three blade designs. The two bladed Whisper 500 is a powerful solution for the larger power needs of farms and lodges

Voltage can be changed in the field from 12 to 48 Volts
New four bearing spindle for smoother operation and longer life
Upgraded yaw shaft to more efficiently deliver current to batteries
New bronze bushing and larger diameter furling pin for smoother furling action
Permanent magnet generator eliminates brushes
Aerodynamic blades maximize output at slow wind speeds
New Whisper controller included with every unit to ensure safe operation of the wind turbine when the batteries are charged

Side-furling angle-governor protects the turbine in high winds by turning the alternator and blades out of the wind, reducing turbine exposure. Other turbines can lose as much as 80% of their output when furled and the angle-governor allows the Whisper to achieve maximum output in any wind.

Whisper 100 and Whisper 200

The Whisper 100 is designed to work in medium to high wind speed averages of 12 mph, 5.4 m/s, and more. The Whisper 100 can provide up to 100 kW.hr per month, 3.4 kw.h per day in a 12 mph average wind.

The Whisper 200 is designed to work in medium to high wind speed averages of 12 mph, 5.4 m/s, and more. The Whisper 100 can provide up to 200 kw.h per month, 3.4 kw.h per day in a 12 mph average wind.

Whisper 500

The Whisper 500 can produce sufficient power for an entire home. With a 12 mph (5.4 m/s) wind, the Whisper 500 can produce up to 500 kw.h per month.

Installation of the Whisper 500 requires concrete foundations and sometimes the use of a crane to lift the turbine into place.

100 and 200 have similar peak power ratings, the 20 will deliver up to twice as much power in lower wind speeds. “Typical output” is based on an average wind speed of 16 kph (or 10 mph).
