Sharp solar panels work effectively across Canada from British Columbia to the Maritimes. Colour and framing both make a difference. During a wet snow storm the snow sticks to everything from telephone poles to solar panels. Solar panels positioned at the correct angle for our northern latitudes, of the appropriately dark material without white divisions between cells encourage the snow to slide off and as the storm abates and weather turns colder the combination of angle, self generated heat by solar and electrical resistance (within still shaded cells) you have a good chance to see the snow clearing off your panels without manual clearing.
